Trout fishing in NW Jersey, first time out this season, rivers are running high with all the recent rain. Quickly put away the fly rod & threw a small spoon on UL spin gear. Landed 10 ‘bows & lost just as many within a 25 yard stretch of stream I’m familiar with - wasn’t going to challenge the strong current. Had to leave them biting to go umpire a HS game, it was a bonus to have a base assignment too.
It was a good day for both fishing & baseball as the temps finally warmed into the 70’s!
God Bless,
Mickey

Sounds like a great day Mickey! Beautiful 'Bow. 👍🏻
Thanks Jar, Plum & Fred!
Yes it was a great day to be outside all day, I slept like a baby last night from all the fresh air & sunshine!
Beautiful colors on that fish Mickey, but there’s no breakfast meat line in Jersey, it’s all pork roll!
Gotta get out myself soon, I’m already way behind Bands and there’s no catching up to him.

There is no catching up to or out-fishing bands in NJ! He's "da-MAN"
All state stocked trout are/have been rainbows.
An occasional brown or brookie is a BONUS & probably a native. I miss the old days of having a shot at all 3.
And YES, there is NO "pork-roll" in North Jersey, just Taylor Ham!
God Bless,
Mickey

Fishing & baseball, what better way to celebrate springtime in the outdoors!
