They call it the 100 month cough. That's what it feels like.
That's what my daughter's doc said

About a week ago, my wife came home from work coughing, short of breath and very tired. She went to the doctor and had a chest x-ray, two steroid shots and antibiotic. The x-ray showed a possible virus in the lung. She tested negative for Covid. A few days later, I got it. She seems to be improving but missed a week's worth of work.
The doctor wasn't sure what this is/was. The coughing is terrible. My ribs and back are sore. I'm sleeping mostly in a recliner.
If any of you have these symptoms and have breathing or respiratory issues separate from this virus. I would strongly urge you to get to a doctor. This is nothing to ignore. Just my two cents.

Sorry to hear this Greg. I'm having a similar respiratory issue, but not nearly as severe as yours. I'll treat it with OTC stuff for now and see how it goes. If it gets worse,I'll call the doctor. I hope you and Becky get well soon.

Thanks Fred. We are rarely ill. I just wonder what the origin of this virus is and where it originated.

You have to wonder about all of them now.

Don't take this ailment lightly. My son in law buried his 34 year old son yesterday. He died of a respiratory infection in Austin, TX. I guess I'm spooky but I too have had a cough for several days. Dr appointment tomorrow. Hope you & your wife recover soon
That's why I made the original post. This cough, sometimes a low grade temp, trouble breathing, etc, is nothing to be ignored. I will be calling my doc soon if this continues. The wife went last week and has a follow up April 8.
OK just a quick thought that MAY help. They had us do this in Boot camp. Breath Steam, hot shower will do it, and them lay on your bed with hips and legs on the bed. Arms and head to the floor, put a bowl down there to cough into. Gravity will help pull it out of the lungs after being softened up with the steam.
This NOT a cure, just to help clear the lungs. Sometimes old stuff is forgotten about.
It’s also allergy season. I use Flonase spray and mucinex. It’s getting better. I can go most of the day without a cough and every once in a while I have a coughing jag that sometimes makes me light headed.

Had something similar for the last couple of weeks. Nit as severe as yours, but chronic coughing and congestion in the upper brochilles, post nasal drip and a short spell of chills and fever. Seems to be asking its time going away to.
Sounds exactly like what I'm getting over with now.

My wife and I have seasonal allergies living in the worst area in the country for allergies. This is definitely much more than an allergy.

I agree with you.
Also a reminder to get a pneumonia vaccination. My Dr told me that she had a patient that would get pneumonia 2-3 times a year but since he’s taken the vaccination he hasn’t had it once.
