Well I met NoCal Steve yesterday morning at Lake Berryessa. We were on the water.by 7:30. Started out hitting some of our favorite spots. A little cold in the morning but warmed up nicely.not much action untill about 10am. In the next two hours we caught 8 nice smallies all between 2 &1/2 to 3 pounds. Boy those smallies put up a great fight! Then the bite totally shut down. Moved to various spots, but nothing happening. Of the water by 3pm. All fish were caught tossing a slow retrieved weighted Senkos and slow dragging Strike King worms.Still a great day. Just look at the smile on Steve’s face!

You forgot to say NoCal Steve is "4 for 4 in 2024!" ( caught at least a limit) Rich was smiling to! This bass spent more time in the air than it did on the water! Water temp took a nose dive and a Spring storm is coming in today so it will be another week before the fishing gets really good. Hate to break my streak but next trip is going to have to be Clear Lake I'm thinking.

Not bragging my friend, confident. Besides, you've fished enough times with me to know what an amazing fisherman I am! Boy, I'm really pushing my luck now! Lol

Thanks . Never put to much stock on the barometer as far as fishing goes. But I truly believe that our upcoming storm played a big roll in yesterday’s bite shutting down!

Nice job Rich and Steve! Worming is my favorite way to catch 'em, and Smalljaws are my favorites to catch. You guys are off to a great start this season, and I'm jealous. Hopefully mother nature will cooperate and let things warm up after the next storm. Thanks for the pictures. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks my friend. Love those smallies. Pound for pound, the best fighting bass there is. I’ll take them all day long!

Steve, we will be camping at Putah Creek on Lake Berryessa on the first week of April for four days. Then im heading Breckenridge Colorado for four days of skiing with my son the following week! I truly love being retired!!! Hope I can still keep up with him!

You are more than welcome to join us. It will be NoCal, the Bus and myself. Should have two boats there, George’s and Steve’s. Might bring my boat and try trolling for the trout. But there were a lot of boats out there yesterday trolling. Didn’t hear much success from them while talking to those folks at the ramp. The lake level is the highest I’ve seen in many years! The ramp at Capel cove is 15 ft. Below the parking lot! And the glory hole is spilling over! And we have three more days of rain coming!

Thanks for the offer, but I'm just not sure where I'll be and what will be goin on.
I'll keep it in mind though if I can get away for a day.
