They make a product called SYNVISC which is injected into the knee joint like cortisone but it is a different product. It doesn’t work on everyone, but for those it does it is great. I could tell the difference after my first injection before I even got back to my car. I was able to delay bi-lateral knee replacement for about 4 years. When it no longer was effective I also new it immediately. Pretty amazing stuff. Ask your surgeon about it.

There’s no parking at the VA hospital I go to. They’re building a parking garage where the parking lot was. Should be done by July 2025
Same issue at the Fresno ca. Hospital.I have had to drive around and wait for another patient to leave to get a parking spot! I find parking much easier if I make all appointments later than 2 pm!
VA Martinez I got it injections in both hands last Monday then injections in my back on Thursday same guy both times ..

Got back from Tahoe Tuesday and had 2 VA Dr apts, one on Weds the 6th and today, Fri the 8th.
First one was for my right knee. They finally gave me a cortisone shot. It seems to have helped a lot. Hope it continues to improve.
Today, a different Dr and he cave me a cortisone shot in my left thumb. Hopefully it will help as much as the knee one has.
Guess the knee Dr isn't a thumb Dr. Don't know why the first couldn't do BOTH of them. OH WELL, whatever. It's done now.
Will let y'all know how much, if anymore, they help.

Good luck with them. When my knee was bad the first shot lasted about 1 month after that it wasn't as effective. The only thing that helped was a full knee replacement. That went well and feels as good as new. If I had to do the other one I would go in a heartbeat. I'm too much of a Sally to do them both like I've seen other do. One at a time is all I think I could handle. Fortunately the other knee is fine. Messed up just one in high-school football.
