I was lucky and a friend that got out 2 months before me came and picked me up for the drive home.
Didn't have to fly in uniform and have people trying to spit on me. Most likely I would have been in jail for Simple Assault. LOL I do know we k**led a lot of NVA and VC saving our troops with Gunfire Support. USS Leary DD-879, call sign "Home Run". Biggest spot we had come back from an FO was 150 feet.
