Its garbage ,throw it out. You dont need 100lb. mono ! Use flrocarbon a lot lighter ,or light soft cable leader with crimps works well ,100lb. is overkill !

Agreed, we did fine on 80 lbs test, bringing in a mako shark that went close to 1000lbs

I have 80on my 9/o Penn. I use for shark fishing. Knots can be difficult with it too

I use juglines for catfish. The main line is 60 ft with 2 dropper lines. I needed to rebuild several earlier this year & couldn"t get either 80 or 90 lb mono. Berkley big game now only goes to 60 lb. I found some World Wide Sportsman 100lb at bass pro. I've used 80lb Andy for years so this 100lb wasn't too difficult. Wet the line with soapy water & it knots better. I use 2 60lb dropper lines so it's kind of a heavy duty affair. I run the finished coiled up piece under hot water for a minute or so. That helps with memory. The end result is a nice jug line that a big catfish can break. I tried 80lb braid once & it just wasn't my line.

Moby Dick was fictional. You can use a lighter line, better yet, a better leader.

I've used braided nylon line for the main line on jug lines. It's limp, the knots hold well, it last a long time & cost 5 times as much as mono. I ordered some seven strand bulk steel leader material once & tried that. All things considered I'll stay with mono & it'll be heavy mono. Catfish are rough on equipment. I prefer a 5 pounder for the table but there's no way to keep the large one's from taking a bait.

50r 60 pound will reduce the teeth-caused breakoffs and tie much better than the 100.
