I thought I would take advantage of the sunny weather and fish Lake Almanor yesterday before the the next wave of atmospheric rivers hit us. Fished a little more than an hour and made well over 30 casts with a 1/3 oz Little Cleo spoon with flash I tied on the hook. Got a real good strike and played the fish to the net in which it barely fit. (need to bring a bigger net next time).
The lake isn't stocked much during the winter months so not many stockers around just the big ones cruising around looking for an opportunistic meal.

Lake Almanor is one of my favorite trout and smallmouth bass lakes in California! Nice Brown Trout!
I love when the hex hatch arrives in July too!
Beautiful Brown trout hoping to hit the Clarion river in central Pa on Saturday it’s true trophy waters (catch and release only) but that’s how they get big
Nice fish , I love lake Almanor !
