Yes, it depends where the hooks are. If you gut hook them then the stomach acids can work on the hook - hopefully he can still eat while this happens as it will take a while, since the hooks don't usually go into the gut itself. Most hookings are on the lips or inner mouth and since it is freshwater it will take a very LONG time to rust out the hooks, especially since most hooks are coated. I go heavier with the leader, since it is clear & flexible anyway and it is now the weakest part of your line. 10# Power Pro is probably actually 25# break strength, so I'd use 20# Fluoro leader. If you're new to braided line remember when you get a snag you can usually pull it loose but don't use a bare hand--use towel or glove. It will cut you to the bone
