I used to love me a Gimlet, or 10.

Hello stagers,
My daughter ,Crystal, got a job at a liquor store.
No one in our family drinks much. I would like to try some drink recipes. I'm asking you for your input.
What is your favorite and how do you make it.
I'm looking for drinks other the usual like rum or whiskey in Coke.
For example. I once had a drink that I enjoyed called a Grasshopper 🦗. It was a shot of Cream de Mint, Cream de Cocco and a shot of vodka mixed with 1/2 & 1/2. I also remember something called a Pink Squirrel, but don't remember its ingredients other than Peppermint Schnapps.
My wife mentioned Long Island Iced Tea, but neither of us know how to make it.
Looking forward to your recipes.

My favorite mixed drink is a rum runner. Very similar to the zombie Plumb described. You can look the ingredients up on line. I think I have had at least 3 different versions. The best was made in a slushy machine with crushed ice. I’m not big on mixed drinks, so if I tried to tell you how to make it, I would probably mess it up. I know the ingredients are white rum, dark rum, banana liqueur, blackberry brandy (or blackberry moonshine), orange juice, splash of 151 rum over top of the drink. Amounts of the ingredients is where I mess up. Very good summertime drink.

Wow! Those mixed drinks are like walking down the midway of a carnival! Amazing and exciting!

My favorites were quite simple, Gin and tonic or Vodka and tonic! There are many ways to mix these, but I prefer 1/2 and 1/2. My favorite bars were in Officers' club because the prices were reduced.

During Christmas when I was on active duty, at Christmas time, I walked into the club in a civilian suit. All of a sudden, a great looking female grabbed me and planted a sweet kiss on my lips, the pirouetted away! Never saw her again. Just Sayin...RJSi

Thanks Marshall, but unfortunately I gave it up back in the '80s. I do miss it from time to time though. Have one, on me.

Many years ago, when I was district Manager of Louisiana, stationed in New Orleans, orders came down we must hire a black salesman, and not a West Indes black, but an honest to goodness from the South salesman.

I was fortunate enough to have a young man apply who had been working for Shell. I had been in a similar job with the company that is now Exxon.

So I hire Julius. But any one we hired had to have two managers interview him, so I sent Julius to Dallas for his second interview.

Later, Julius was under going some of his training in Dallas. George was a manager who was from the Old South, I think Virginia.

One evening after work, they went to a bar for a little libation. Julius ordered Dr. Pepper and whiskey. George said, "Julius, we are going to have to teach you how to drink!" Just Sayin...RJS
