Fishing Fool, you’re right! That technique you described I’ve heard many anglers have used on chicken liver for catfish bait. It’s very effective for making sure bait doesn’t slip off the hook. Thank you for the feedback.

I have found herring at 99Ranch stores in the past. You might give them a try.

Last week I was at Guasti in Rancho and the guys there were Catching them with small a marshmallow and a mealworm. Something to try next time.
