I agree as long as both mates understand the definition of commitment (to me, not so common these days). Would be a shame if one had to remove his/her ink.
Definitely much safer than any material of composition band.
Non-metal bands certainly have an advantage if you stick you hands into electrical equipment. They do not avoid the finger rip off when you jump from a truck, trailer or wagon.

If you have a wedding ring tattoo the way to remove it is to remove the finger.
