Commander, you have a rare obligation and opportunity to make a difference in this young man's life. God bless you and your wife for stepping up. Years ago when two of our granddaughters were young and going through tough time with their mom and our son and his new wife, gma and I had to be there for them like you are now. Even today as they are 28 and 30 years old they tell us how much it meant to them for us to be there during that time. They are a blessing to us as I'm sure your grandson is to you. You are making a positive impact on his young life and it will be a lasting impact. God Bless!

Yesterday my grandson came to spend the weekend. He helped grandma cut my hair. I always get it buzzed. He actually did most of the cutting ✂️. I be praised his fine job. He said multiple times. " Am I a good barber grandpa?
You're the best barber there is.
He would get a big grin 😁 on his face.
It's great being a grandfather.

Took my Grandson Gizmo fishing 🎣 again yesterday. The fish were not cooperating.
We did see a large white carp swim by.
Gizmo said " Look Grandpa! That fish is Ginormas!
We fished for a while, then played on the playground.
When we finished playing we went home 🏡 and the two of grilled hotdogs.
When it was time for him to go back home he gave me a big hug and said " Don't worry Grandpa we'll catch some fish. Next time Grandpa we'll catch some fish.

Today I got to go fishing with my grandson ( mentioned above ) He caught his very first fish ever.
It was a meager 3 inch Blue Gill, but to him it was a proud moment.
He kept shouting ' I'm so happy! I'm so happy! I caught my first fish!! He called Grandma to tell her.
Grandpa took a picture. I'll post it if any stagers can advise me on how to do so.
I saw on the internet where I can get a message inscribed Blue Gill plaque.
I'm going to order one that says " My first fish. With today's date. We'll keep it at Grandpa's house on the wall.

Just added another fishing 🎣 buddy.
Took my 5 year old Granddaughter ' Lil Raccoon fishing she caught a small Blue Gill then a 13 inch Large Mouth Bass.
As a reward for her achievement I took her to the tackle store and bought her her own fishing pole 🎣 and tackle box and of course her very own fishing hat with the clip on gold fish hook for the brim

Commander , You da man ! Someday Lil Raccoon will look back fondly on these days spent fishing with her Grandpa and it will be sweet memories for her. I often think of the time spent with my Fraternal GF nearly 70 years ago, & it gives me such warm memories of times that can never be duplicated. Sigh.....

Went fishing 🎣 with my little buddy today.
He caught two nice sized Blue Gills and I cought nothing.
To a six year old this was a great feat. To be able to out fish Grandpa.
Of course I had to pretend to fuss and be jealous, but in reality I couldn't have been prouder.
This evening he wanted to go to our monthly magicians meeting.
The place we met has a full sized swimming pool. H promptly removed his shirt and sandals and just right in.
For being just six he swims like a fish 🐟
He even showed fellow magicians a trick that Grandpa taught him. The infamous Linkin fingers trick. He even taught the others how it was done, just like we do.
They made a little boys night when they pretended to be amazed.
So besting Grandpa and performing before magicians, what could be more grand.

My six year old grandson Gizmo wanted to go fishing 🎣 one last time, with Grandpa, before school started tomorrow. However the weather didn't cooperate. It rained most of the day with frequent lightning. He will be starting Kindergarten tomorrow. Seems like yesterday that he was born.
Gizmo was born premature because his mother was addicted to and selling drugs.
She is now in Prison serving a 18 year sentence for being a habitual offender.
His father is in a new relationship with a wonderful young lady who is treating Gizmo as if he was her own.
He also knows that we are always there for him.
Tomorrow our 2 year old grandson is coming to spend the day with us.
When he is 5 I'll begin teaching him as well.
His big sister ( 5 years old) has been fishing 🎣 once with Grandpa and caught a nice Large Mouth Bass. Maybe she'll my the next fishing buddy?
She has another baby brother on the way. We are anticipating his arrival mid December.
