Congratulations on catching fish under this conditions!! I know it get tough. I finally got skunked this winter when Napa River just stayed high and even with high/low tides, water was high and water was muddy, 3" visibility... Hopefully catch up with you in person at Clear Lake!

The rain has been a blessing! Now it needs to stop! As bad as we needed it, if it keeps raining it’s going to cause more damage and flooding.there’s rain in the forecast for early this up coming week! Went to Sonoma lake last weekend and the store at the private marina was part of the lake! They started to release water, I’ve only seen Sonoma lake higher one other time years ago when they couldn’t open the gates to release water, there was so much Debris it jammed up the release gates, they had to send divers down to clear all the debris out. Today I had to get out so I headed to R.F.P the water is like coffee with creamer and is way up, most of the lower lake trail is under water, so I found a opening in the bushes and found some openings between all the tress and Managed to catch 1 Bass! The struggle is real!!! Hopefully it starts warming up soon, where still having winter temperatures, good luck and be safe!

Thanks Ben! It’s almost impossible for me not to go fishing every chance I get, can’t wait till spring arrives!! All we need is a good warning trend and the fish will start moving up, see you in 5 weeks! Good luck and be safe!!

Steve
I know the lake has hot 🔥 springs in certain area's
But what is the temperature of the water in the lake right now.?
Or dose the lake stay warmer than most of the lakes because of the Hot springs ?
I've only fished it once.
And that was 12yrs ago.
But we did well with top water using a white mouse, and they were real nice Bass.
Hope you have good season.
Can't make the fishing party the family is having a big family reunion, hope you guys do well.

Watched Alan Fong's latest video last night. He feels the pain too, but is excited for the grungy water in a way because of two things. 1: less fish being caught now means a better spawn, bringing more fish later, and 2: murky water makes it really difficult for the bluegills to find and eat the post spawn eggs.
Fishing sucks right now in most NoCal areas, but the future couple of seasons, and this season after the water clears will be memorable in his opinion.

I agree 👍
I really don't think fishing will get, until end of April or May and could be a great June !
We still have the melt off and that will be a lot of snow.
I was told thy are worried about Bishops and Independence off 395 Hyw for flooding when the snow melts.
