I fish from Cove Creek to Tazewell on the north Norris lake system. I also get on the Clinch fly fishing occasionally. Been living here in Jacksboro for almost 3 years and still trying to figure this system out. Love pursuing the "EATERS", walleye, crappie, bluegills, and stripes but also enjoy some local bass tournaments. I've noticed there's not a lot of fishing reports for this area and I don't know if that's because fishermen don't want to share information or they ain't catching. I think it's the first cause I see fellow fisherman out boating all the time. I'm willing to share what I learn and what's working with anyone. I'd really like to get a fishing report going for Norris lake and the huge system of rivers, creeks and hollows. Currently been getting on the walleye and crappie and the only thing I have to report on that is that it was getting pretty hot for a while until this cold weather slowed them down a bit. Had a couple good days out at Earl's Hollow on the walleye trolling Silver SR9 and jigging a 1/2 oz lead jig with Cabela's 3.5 reel shad minnow. Catching some crappie in Cove Creek with minnows and hair jigs. My fishing partner went (without me) to Kilgore landing on 3/14 and he and a friend caught 23 bass 50/50 SM/LM, mostly on Demon DT6 and SR7, with a couple coming on SK green pumpkin bitsy jig and SK Rage Tail Twin Tail Menace Grub. They found the bass on the banks in shallow water and it was another 40* day. I'm getting back on it this week. Picking up my boat from Bass Pro tomorrow after some upgrades. More to follow...
Couple pics of some walleye, crappie, white bass and KY bass. I'll eat the Kentucky bass all day long, LoL. I'm the old guy in the pics 😎

Welcome Rngr9-87, I occasionally get the opportunity to fish Norris around the Stardust marina area. I don’t normally get there until warmer weather though and don’t mind telling you, it’s a tough lake for me to fish. It was really good to read your report. Gives some hope for the next time we get down there. Probably Easter. Good luck and the guys and gals on this forum love pictures.

Some nice walleyes, I like kayaking the Powell in summertime, I’ve caught some nice smallmouth from there, thanks for sharing, over on the other side of the hill on the clench river is some good walleye fishing also,

Have you fished for and caught white bass during the spring on the Powell river, do the white bass run up the Powell river like they do the clinch?

Is Earls hollow far enough up river to get on the white bass good, or not?

Yes it's up there. From Earls hollow upstream it starts shallowing out pretty quick. I've got a Bass Tracker 175 TF and I can get about a mile upstream from Earls. I've been farther up than that but it starts getting pretty iffy. Gap Creek is a good place to with a Jon boat maybe.
Fish run way up in the Powell. I've been 15 miles past 25E in Harrogate and paddled down. Walleye, Stripers and White bass get up there. Great SM fishery too.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve kayaked above the 25 bridge about 5 miles up, smallmouth and red eyes is all I’ve ever caught there, it a beautiful river, I love catching the white bass, we usually drive down to Alabama just for the white bass fishing, I may give the Powell a try in a week or so when the water warms a bit, the white bass and walleye were starting to hit pretty good a week ago before the cold weather on the holston river but this cold week of weather has slowed them down, thanks again!

Bull Run Creek at the 25W bridge by Claxton and Hess Creek just N of the 61 Bridge in Clinton are my 2 go-to places for White Bass. When the Dog Woods Bloom, it's time. I haven't targeted them in the Powell but I may do that this year.
