That's just not true. While I'm sure there isn't one answer that covers everything, I just know what I've seen many, many times with my own eyes. What I find truly incredible is how quickly they find their bed when released. No hunting or looking around, like a bullet shot right back to their bed. For the record, I rarely sight fish anymore. I learned something much better.
One last point to consider before anyone decides to take the holier than though road. Think about these seasons that have been in effect for years. There is a reason for the season... Duck/Geese, Turkey, Deer, Elk, Dove, and I'm sure there are others. If you are consistent in your convictions and are outraged by fishing spawning beds well, it's so obvious I shouldn't have to say it.
