I have had exceptional success with nail polish from the Dollar Store. I have at least a half-dozen that are a "clear with glitter", in various glitter colors. The one with RED glitter is my fave, but the blue, the silver, the gold (have 2 bottles with 2 different SIZES of glitter), the orange, even black...all have good adhesion and so far, are plenty durable. Have not experienced any degradation of surface, despite the solvent (acetone) of the polish, since it dries so very quickly.
Cheap and easy.
BTW...Harbor Freight has a sweet little weighted holder with 2 articulating arms with alligator clips and a magnifying glass...less than $10, if I recall. Great helper for painting lures.
