Check out the lake on google earth and you will see there the entire shoreline is filled with housing now. I live on the channel between Wawasee and Syracuse.

I checked out google maps like you said and you are right, those empty channels of my youth have homes and what looks like garages on them, we used to take our rowboat down main channel and over try o Syracuse lake to. Two kids in a 12’ boat with a 9.9 Johnson could cover a lot of water before it was time to go home. Good times

Didn't stay, just stopped for gas and snacks at the Gas Station at the Lafayette exit off I-65. Never went into town. That was 40 years ago so I probably wouldn't even recognize the place if I saw it today. But I have a fishing buddy that lives in Indianapolis that I've been trying to get up there and fish with. Hopefully sometime this Spring. Maybe we'll come your way and you can show us some honey holes (smile).
