I was coming home this morning from buying fruit wood for my smoker and knock off Solo stove( CooZoom) out in the country ,and found a couple of places selling fresh laid eggs ,but different colors at $4 a dozen. I stopped and saw different variety of hens so I bought two dozen, pretty cool, white, brown, lite blue, & lite green!! So tomorrow I'm making Green Eggs & ham !!๐

Doing good Jar. My hunting partner has 3 dozen hens so I donโt have to buy any but the price in the stores is getting ridiculous. Hope things are well with you also

Prices are ridiculous, my wife Gloria has a side business of specialty pastries, cookies , & cakes, but cost of eggs here skyrocketed, and doesn't like changing her prices that much! She's on Instagram Gloria's Goodies , last nite she a dozen "Bonuelitos" this is what's left and am biting my knuckle to stay away!๐๐

They are paper thin sprinkled with cinnamon sugar๐๐
$4/dozen is a great price ! Even the cheap market around here, Winco, has $4.88 for their cheapest.
A local egg farm has always had a small shelf in Winco with a price of $5.25/dozen for their "organic free-range" beautiful brown eggs. When the other suppliers (probably 3-4 ?) were at various $2.50-$4, the local browns seemed too overpriced. Now...I just go ahead and pay the extra 40 cents and keep the money local, as the the local stays its longtime pricing course, while the major suppliers continue to cull their flocks and raise their prices weekly, with no end in sight.
I totally get the "bird flu" epidemic and its results, but much like the gas station hikes last fall, there are many suppliers that take advantage of the situation and blatantly leave their prices inordinately high long after the "crisis" has passed.
Gotta keep an eye on the shysters....they're in absolutely every segment of the economy....unscrupulous behavior, if you ask me.
