Those planters are most likely safer than trout that are raised in large lakes that contain heavy metals....

Good job Ranger! You’re killing those bows! I call those alligators when they’re out in the bay “deadheads”, don’t know why though…………

Out here we call them "Deadheads" when they are semi waterlogged, and floating vertically Denny. We get telephone poles /pilings from marinas / and pieces of wood guardrail poles. During the Spring melt and flooding, they come down the rivers into Long Island Sound, and only show 1 foot of a much longer pole. During early Spring fishing you have to be alert for them because if you come down off a wave hard they'll punch a nice hole in your hull bottom.

No doubt. Sounds like the Mississippi down here. Logs for days out into the passes and the gulf. If you can find the rip where many of them come together, fish galore.

The Connecticut River is the worst here. The problem is, the river runs North to South, but the tides in Long Island Sound run East and West. You might run into a bunch of them 15 miles or more away from the river.

Still don't know where you are catching all these trout. Are you just saving them all for yourself?

No problem brother. It's a little far from us out here.

I noticed them coming together on the rip out here as well, when I see the rip I keep a sharper eye out. I may have to try checking for fish near them too!
