new year thought

OK it is Sunday 1st day of a new year and while I am no preacher here is the short sermon I would preach if I were one.

“forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 3:23,24)

This year has had it’s ups and downs, good times, and hard times, but now is the time to leave behind those things of the past year that has a hold on you and causes you to look backwards instead of forward to a new year. like old worn out cloths, box up all those things that have caused broken and strained relationships, all those things that cause you pain or suffering, all those things that cause you to worry or fear and give them all over to Jesus who has said “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” As it is written “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” And press on “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith” and be all God wants you to be and do all God wants you to do in this coming year. Have a great new year

Great post, DC!
Ya’ know Mark16:15 doesn’t say “go preachers …”, it says “go ye (you disciples)…”, or in other words, ALL OF US who are believers.
Paul made it even more clear in Ephesians 4, that it is not just the preacher’s/pastor’s job.

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/114/eph.4.11-12.NKJV

BTW, have you had a chance to read the “Devotionals” or watch the videos I’ve posted last week and yesterday? It is my hope and prayer that they will accomplish just what the scripture above says…. 🙏🏻
P.S. I’m not a preacher either.
