State wants more money
My value went down 3%
Are they going to give me money back
Nope it’s California
We just give them money
So they can take more away from us who pay taxes
My wife is paying over $9000 a quarter for self employment taxes...plus social security and the withholdings for her three employees...I'm of the opinion we pay enough
one of the countless reasons I left that state. Move to Florida and live "free."

I'd never heard of such a thing, they had the registration info and the purchase price, but they want a declared statement of value...of course I could only get half what I paid for it, we all know that, right?
Tax you for the value of your boat?...you pay that every time you register it with the state.
Well,,,,,,,, today, my pontoon is worth absolutely,,,,,,,,, Zippo. July 1st, if it is nice and sunny, it would be priceless.

Hi Wood, give them today's discounted value. It can't get worse. Haven't heard of that one in a long time. Next will be mandated boater safety certificate. Age based right now from what I understand. Coming to all of us in CA. Please v**e in your own best interest everytime. Nothing else matters now.
Sport... it will get worse if Connecticut is any indicator . Buy a boat here...
1.) Pay sales tax & registration fees
2.) take Boater Safety Course
3.) Pay local town or city property tax, annually
4.) " " " " " " " on Trailer .
Wood,my son is in West Virginia and they have to pay property tax on everything each year. All their vehicles and trailers, boats, etc

Wood... I read yesterday that the cost to "fix" the homeless problem in Cali is $12 billion a year for the next nine years. Maybe they are turning over stones looking for cash? Cause we all know money fixes everything, right? I***ts.
Just remember when you put the words 'the IRS ' together you get THEIRS

Sounds like a good way to get more money for the politicians to spend.

Here in Missouri, all personal property is taxed once a year. Personal property and real property taxes are all due by the end of December each year. Merry Christmas.
How about giving them the finger , and I believe you know which one 🤔😁

No amount of money will EVER fix something that they can use as a political football.
If you think that you can trust a politician with money, you are a dangerously naive pollyanna!

So I guess, that if you can afford a boat you have to much money, so we’re going take some from you. How about that motor home? We’re gonna have to tax you on that too. Is there anything else you worked your butt off for that we can tax you on. Ahhh, come on. There’s gotta be something else we can tax you on. Something that you’re not deserving of. It’s a bunch of BS…

I think when I lived in CA you either could renew the license each year or pay personal property tax on it
