I don’t know if you remember this, but there some people who expressed a real concern about what the World’s computers would do at the stroke of midnight 1999? No one could be sure about what would happen then.
Since there had never been such an event. In 1900’s or centuries before, there had never before been a computer age. Therefore, this unique event was being discussed and there was a lot of conjecture over what might happen. Some ‘doom and gloom’ folks predicted the computers would run wild, creating all kinds of freak events. Others believed nothing would happen as a result and they turned out to be correct. Nothing happened!
But like seeing the new year in, it was also a novel opportunity to see the new century in. So, where were you at the stroke of midnight when 1999 ended and the year 2000 was ushered in?
About 175 to 200 of my group from Second Baptist Church, Houston was at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, on our knees in prayer for the peace and welfare of the World. That all the inhabitants would recognize God as the supreme being, submit to his authority and stive to live in obedience to him.
There are a lot of folks who talk about World Peace, but there can be none until all accept God’s authority and control. So, has that happened? Not yet! Hardly, just look around, the war gods seem to be in complete control. Look at September 11th. The sand wars, and such, I don’t see much change, now biological warfare has made its entrance on the World’s stage. Whether by intent, or accident, this new wave of biological warfare has reared its ugly head and certainly does not accept control of its inventors, nor anything else.
It is almost a parallel to the introduction of Smallpox in the America’s and the havoc it had among Native Americans. There are some estimates the Smallpox killed as much as 50% if the native inhabitants of the Americas! In far too many cases, these acts of biological warfare are completely uncontrollable once they are loosed upon an unsuspected population. I do not know how you may feel, but Hell isn’t half hot enough for those who are responsible for these crimes.

9/11 was an attack on our freedom, religion & lifestyle by murdering cowards in an attempt to justify their twisted islamic fundamentalist terroristic beliefs.
If that sounds like a harsh assessment - tough. I worked in the North Tower (#1 WTC) since 1977 and escaped & survived both February 23, 1993 and September 11, 2001.
God Bless the beautiful souls we lost to the evil in the world.
