Since I started out as a machinist I showered in the evening to wash off the grime, smell, and sweat. Clean for bed. I don't like to shower in the morning, especially in winter as the house is cold. Now that I'm home from work around 3:00 I'll shower then. For several years I was a stay at home dad and had a whirlpool tub. Sometimes if the kids were away I would make the tub hot, take up a beer and some magazines, and lay in there for an hour. In winter I would crack open the window above the tub and the bathroom would steam up. Priceless.
Legend has it that Queen Victoria I of England had boasted about her hygiene: "I bathe every month, whether I need it or not!"
And back in the 15th century, Queen Isabella of Spain bragged that she had only bathed twice in her whole life.
If you remember the Richard Chamberlain mini-series 'Shogun', his character protested that a bath "will make you foul sick!"
Me? I just love my hot tub. I marinate in there every evening and usually rinse off the spa water with a quick shower.

The stereotype is that guys prefer to take a shower while ladies like to soak in the tub. I go for the tub more often now that I'm retired, what's your choice?
Next question is when? Yeah I know, when you need one! But in addition to an unscheduled clean-up, some folks shower when they get up in the morning and other people finish the day with soap and water. What's your choice, and why?
I clean up before I go to bed. Partly to be as fresh as possible for the lady next to me, and partly because I sleep better if I'm clean.

If Iām working and sweating I jump in the shower. If I work too hard and am sore I want a fairly hot bath with Epsom salts. Then after soaking for a while I hop in the shower and rinse off. Makes me feel alright šš
