I just met a fine young man while enjoying a nice Baileys and coffee at my local tavern. We had great conversation He told me that he was looking to volunteer for work in the education field to help with his Résumé I felt that he was very sincere. I told him that my daughter is a director for Catholic charities in our area and that they are always looking for volunteers. I put him in contact with her. Hopefully it will work out, when we were about to depart we shook hands. He told me that he liked the strength in my handshake and it told him that I was sincere. I told him that my dad told me along time ago that if you shake a woman’s hand pretend that it’s your mothers hand. If you shake a man’s hand, shake it like he’s your best friend. !!!!

A firm handshake is all fine and dandy unless like myself arthritis is present and then it hurts like heck, especially if the other individual feels like he has to show how strong he is.

A person I ran into decided to play who can grip the hardest. The problem was the boxer fracture on my hand had just healed and was starting to feel good. Set me back a couple months. Firm is OK I just wish the people who think they have to prove themselves would have enough self esteem to shake in a respectful manner.
