Great points sir.

It is not our place to judge or try to justify the liberal mind-set of our politicians currently in power. It is OUR duty & personal responsibility to change things going on in OUR great country via free & f**r e******ns.

That being said, your first bullet shows the need for political term limits & better checks and balances for OUR elected officials. Those “in power” must be held accountable by WE The People & must be reminded they work for US, the taxpayers here at home in the USA.

Your second bullet is an example of the liberal woke ideology. The left virtue signals because it fits their agenda. A high-profile, gay, black woman in Putin’s prison just screams their radical beliefs.
Maybe the “athlete” should have made a better choice than to bring hash oil into a foreign c*******t country?

To quote RJS, just saying…

May God Bless America!

When you ponder these, in particular these two. I get angry my brothers and sisters are a back seat to an athlete who made poor choices of her own!!!!!

Agreed smitty - our governor’s policies are truly “Murphy’s Law” & Everything is going Wrong!

How long have you been up in Maine? If recently, dId Murphy assess you the “exit-fee” tax upon leaving the Garden State?

That is a "no-brainer" Bob. Sadly, it is true. It is truly hard to imagine who or what leads our country.

• We don’t let athletes bet on games they have the ability to influence. Why do we allow Congress to invest in companies they regulate?

• Why is it that so many are more outraged that Brittney Griner is stuck in Russia than they were about Americans being stranded in Afghanistan?•

I'm with you !!!

Plum, Pete claimed never to have bet against his team. I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and presume the MLB Commissioner had plenty of top rate investigators looking into that. No evidence to dispute that claim was ever presented to the public, and it would certainly have at least leaked out if it had been discovered.
*Hall of fame, definitely !* He has the stats, and played like a demon on the field. Was not popular to many because of his aggressive play, but that was OK with me. Gave 200% every time he competed. If a catcher blocked the plate when he was trying to score, he'd run 'em over. Runner is the one who owns the base paths.

The scrutiny nowadays has sure become a lot more lax than it was then - or maybe the players are just more discreet. IDK 🤷‍♂️
I’m sure Pete was not the only one who bet on games back then; I’m equally as sure that there are referees/officials today that are involved in sports betting. 😳 (See the 12/4 Good Morning thread)
“We” asked for it - we got it!….

personally, I'm not a betting person although I did bet a co-worker a hamburger once that I could tell him the score of a mariners game before it started. after he bet me I couldn't I told him the score was 0-0 because before the game starts it is always 0-0. While I won the bet, he never bought me my hamburger. any way I have no problem with sports figures betting on games that they are not involved in but if they are playing in the game then no way they should be able to bet on the game especially if they are betting against the team they are playing on.

I completely agree; neither should any official bet on a game they are working.
I bet a friend once that I could make a match burn twice. I won the bet, but HE got burned!(after I blew the match out). Hohoho! 🎅🏻
