Glad you're ok. Avoiding them is usually worse. I once was with a buddy going to a bass tournament on Lake Buchanan in Texas. He hit a doe at 55 mph and the heavy duty brush guard on his 3/4 ton Ford lower 2" crossbar was bent 3/8" back. Luckily no damage to the truck. Lot of force and happens so so quick.

Well I finally got a deer this past weekend. Saturday I had to go to Kenosha, WI. To drop off some stuff for a buddy. On highway 50 about 10 miles out from my destination, I got a 6 point buck, the only problem is I got it with my son's 2021 Ram pickup. He insisted I take his as my 06 suburban has 270000 miles on the clock. The good news is he has full coverage insurance on his and my suburban only has liability on it, so it will be fixed at insurances expense, minus $500 deductible. The truck survived rather well though. I was able to finish my delivery and get back home with it, with no problems.

I was in a repair shop one day some years ago and got talking to a texan who was waiting for his ride to get an estimate from his deer/vehicle wreck. He was flying low when he topped over a hill only to see a large buck standing in the lane he was in. The deer just lowered his head and drove antlers, head, neck and shoulders clear to the engine. He was fine except for the stains in his drawers but they had to dig the deer out to see all the damage.

I didn't stay long enough to learn what that cost him; a lot I think. It was a Caddy.
