Beautiful fish, nice catching.

Does anyone still bait with any of the powerbait flavors or worms and use a bobber off the bank? Many a lazy couple of hours spent daydreaming waiting for a trout to hit. Most of the posts by just about all the stagers involve a lot of semi-frenetic activity using voodoo gear to get a little relaxation. Yup, me too...but I do love just sitting on the bank relaxing and enjoying a non rushed pipefull of a dark cavendish watching the wild critters running around.

I’m not using power baits but I do a lot of bank fishing. Don’t catch as much as when I’m in the boat but have as much fun. Love kicking back and relaxing But rarely get skunked. But I count anything that comes in on my hook regardless of size or species. That’s usually hassle free fishing. Not always the case in the boat. 🇺🇸🐠on

I used to fish a lot using the set up like in the photo. It was very relaxed until I got a bite. I usually fished for carp and cats, so the fight was a good one. No good cat or carp fishing here, so if I want a relaxed day, it usually involves trolling for trout or kokanee and occasional yellow perch. The trolling results nearly always beat bank fishing including for trout. Using a spot lock i-pilot electric trolling motor and comfortable chair is pretty similar to fishing the bank. It also allows me to fight the fish on a fly rod. My number one trout trolling gear is a size 8 hook black and olive wooly bugger with a split shot, or a local god's tooth lure. Note: it is critically important to have a cup holder near the chair that fits both soda can and coffee cup.

I miss the pull of those fish, but it's hard to complain while eating fresh crab stuffed sole

No but I’m up for about anything. I’ve got a fish cake recipe that I got off the stage and this sting I’m gonna give it a shot. Don’t think I’ve ever had fish cooked anyway I didn’t like. Just some a lot better. When you say stuffed crappie fillets Is that stuffed with crayfish or served with crayfish. Thanks for the idea 🇺🇸🐠on

I was thinking stuffed crappie filets, just like crab stuffed sole. There are numerous recipes for crab stuffed sole on the internet. Just sub the crab in the stuffing with finely chopped crayfish.
