All so true. Growing up my dad would take us fishing. He played ball with us. Other than that we WORKED. He told us work for what you want. If you work hard you can play harder In a world like today it’s kids having kids. TV and games along with computers and cell phones raising our kids. Then some go into politics and no nothing or don’t care as long as it’s all about them or what you can GIVE or do for them Certainly no spanking and teaching them the right way. Although for some of us who were brought up right still have the values that were instilled in us. I often see things and think if my dad/ grandparents had them for just one day. It would change their entire life. We can’t spank or punish them BUT if you leave them at my house it’s a whole different story. You are going to play by my rules and that includes spanking and respect. If you don’t like that keep your kids home.

HenryG.... I know why we BOTH get it confused. The Cat Stevens song : Father and Son, has a theme much like this tune, both preformed around the same time, and both have a quite sad element. Even speaking of the two now, I'm getting it jumbled, but that may be a result of some of the substances that I routinely ingested back in those days. Even pop music had some good stuff then.

Sometimes the music discussions here trigger some great memories, and I really enjoy them. That's a good enough reason to be here @ the Stage, in an of itself.......

It's never to late to take even that 30 year old fishing and show them what they have missed.

Another excellent quote Plum. Too many of today's kids can't seem to get beyond the phone in their hand.
