Wulffy, that song brings a tear to my eye, not for what I’ve done but for those that have.

I know what you mean bk. I thought of my boys Father in what he continues to be left un done. As a step Dad I never thought of myself as a replacement and only can fill the shoes to a point.

Some day they will walk in someones shoes and we can only lead them the best we know how and by example is the best way I can think presently think of.

It's never to late to take even that 30 year old fishing and show them what they have missed.

Good morning, plum. It's so true, and yet so sad. Thank you and have a good day.

Don’t give up Grizz, he is young and may figure it out. Mine were busy at that age, too. The oldest (Brady) is quite an outdoorsman and the youngest (Bryan) fishes now and then. Set aside some time and put a rod in his hand once in a while to keep the thought in his head.
My hopes is that now that Bryan is a Dad, he will tag along once I get his Son Henry out there fishin’.

All so true. Growing up my dad would take us fishing. He played ball with us. Other than that we WORKED. He told us work for what you want. If you work hard you can play harder In a world like today it’s kids having kids. TV and games along with computers and cell phones raising our kids. Then some go into politics and no nothing or don’t care as long as it’s all about them or what you can GIVE or do for them Certainly no spanking and teaching them the right way. Although for some of us who were brought up right still have the values that were instilled in us. I often see things and think if my dad/ grandparents had them for just one day. It would change their entire life. We can’t spank or punish them BUT if you leave them at my house it’s a whole different story. You are going to play by my rules and that includes spanking and respect. If you don’t like that keep your kids home.
