Two and 3 pounders were a norm. Big browns and fast currents were a real challenge.

Yeah I can imagine that the fight is much better in moving water. They seem to have one run in them, and then they're done, in lakes.

40°at the ramp @9:40 am, breeze blowing around 8 mph. I decided to start on the leeward side of the point where the ramp is. Threw a Fluke, a watermelon Dinger, and a couple different Ned Rigs, with zero bites. After losing the 3rd Ned Rig in the rocky bottom, I switched to a Green Pumpkin Dinger. I had 2 Smallies follow it to the bank but they wouldn't bite. After about 30 minutes, I got a decent bite, and set the hook. It wasn't pulling like a Smallmouth but it did break the surface 2x. I couldn't get a good look until I got it to the bank. A 3lb Seeforellen Brown Trout! The biggest Trout I've caught since I was 12 yrs old. I didn't have my cooler so C.P. R. and back in the water she went. As the wind picked up I worked my way down old Rt..8 for about half a mile, with no more action. The wind was about 12-15 by noon so I called it. I never expected to catch a Trout on a 5" Dinger, but you never know.

Thanks Kandy. It was a beautiful day, except for the north wind. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, and I hope your mouth feels better. (Pumpkin Pie is soft. )

Thanks Gordon. Actually if the lake was full, all of "Old Rt.8 " would be under water. It used to run along the river. They relocated it to higher ground when they dammed up the river.

Thanks Butch. Yeah,I didn't think anything I was gonna throw would attract ANY Trout, let alone a 3 pounder. That's why I didn't bring a cooler. SURPRIZE!
