Want to share this with everyone on the stage this pic of my dad with his real nice ohio buck he took down this evening. This is the man that has made me what I am today he’s been there for me all my life teaching me everything he knows about the outdoors be it fishing hunting or just being a good human being. So fortunate to have him still out chasing deer with me at 71 years of age. It’s funny but it reminds me of him having to deal with me when I was a junior hunter. Anyways enjoy the pic and enjoy the outdoors it’s been a lifestyle for us.

Bassattaker, thanks for starting this post.
I have enjoyed hearing from other Stage members. I don’t think that it’s just a coincidence that so many great men/fathers came from that generation. I have strived to carry on with the example set by my father, and then pass those same qualities along to my three sons. The state of our world is so much different now, but I am confident that my sons (and daughter) are prepared to pass it along to our grandchildren.
I’m passing along a couple of pics that bring back some great memories. The first is of my dad with the last really nice Blacktail that he shot on a three generation hunt at 82. My two oldest boys were along and did all of the work for him. I had it mounted and have it on my wall now. Almost every time my boys come over they get excited reliving that hunt. It actually has quite a backstory that perhaps I’ll share here one day.
The other is a four generation pic from that same season. Those little guys are now old enough to be hunting on their own.
Thanks again, it warms my heart to dig up these memories….and so many more.

Nice big Whitetail 👌
I also loved deer hunting and bird hunting with my dad.
He passed away about a year ago.
And I will never forget the days with and my Grandfather.
Now I enjoy hunting with my sons and Grandchildren.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving 😊

Yes. And you’ve made your dad proud. I’m almost 74. Nothing better than a son or grandson to spend time with. Enjoy him because today will be the good ol’ days. The real sad thing of growing old is that when you pass on, all you know and could teach, goes with you. May he have many more good days to spend with those whom he loves.

Yes sir that also is on my bucket list but w dads knees not sure we can make that happen. I read your posts and thought to myself what an amazing trip that must’ve been glad you got to experience it w your son. And no shame in not trying to fill other tags some of my best memories came from unfilled tags. Lots of people think it’s a fail if tags are unfilled but they don’t know the memories that were made during the quest to fill them . Just being outdoors w the ones you love is enough for me. Happy hunting

BA I share you take on memories. Never made any with my old man. I did make many with my grandson. Make all you can while you can. 👍👍
