My name is Tiffany and my dad, Keith, used to send me words of wisdom from this site every week. Everyone who contributed to this community had a huge impact on my dad. He would laugh and laugh at your stories and always shared the best ones with my brother, Kevin, and I.

He passed away unexpectedly last night and I just felt like I had to make sure this community knew how much laughter your posts brought my family and I.

Thank you all. Next time you cast a line, or drink some rum, raise a glass to my dad!

With love, Tiffany

No matter how far apart we are, this place feels like family. Even though lots of us will never meet,it makes you feel good to know that you’ve been an influence on someone and brightened their day just a little

Great thought Slim. I feel more connected to some of these folks than I do people I should be closer to.

Reading all your messages makes me kind of feel like he’s still here. Like I’m surrounded by a bunch of my Dad.

We live in the Chicagoland area, just south of the Wisconsin-Illinois border. We used to go trolling on Lake Michigan every year, but if I’m being honest I can’t remember what we’d always fish for. I just loved being on the boat with him. This is him and my brother, Kevin.

He was happiest surrounded by family or on the water. And he had a laugh and a smile that would light up the room the second he walked in.

Tiffany, it looks like your father was a heck of a fisherman, and a great family man. I'm sorry he didn't participate more so we could have got to know him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Saw1, thank you for sending this. It brought tears and smiles to all of us and will be used on his prayer card. This is exactly what he would have wanted.

Tiffany& Kevin,
I'm so glad you feel that the poem is appropriate.
I see Griz sent the original poem to you. I think all the guys would feel blessed to know that y'all will have it on his prayer card. I KNOW he would like that.
I plan on havin it on mine.

I also have another one I like called "The Fisherman's Prayer."

If you can't find it on line, let me know and I'll PM it to you.
Again, my heart felt condolences to you and family. Your Dad looks like he was a very caring and loving Dad. Saw1.

I think I would like to do that too. Maybe I can get my daughter to help me to do it.
Do you by chance have the "Fisherman's Prayer " also?
