It's never easy to lose someone close but it seems tougher when it's your Mom or Dad.
Keepin y'all in my prayers.

I don’t think he ever posted, unfortunately. He had many incredible stories to tell of his trips fishing in Canada and on Lake Michigan that I wish he had shared with you all. My favorite included a run-in with a bear, a log cabin bar, a Packers game that went south…and maybe 1 too many rum & cokes. Ha!

He just turned 75, and I am about to turn 32 in 2 weeks. It is particularly tough when it’s a parent.

I think one of you may have posted this, I just found it again saved in his pictures. He wanted this included in his obituary:

Very touching indeed.
Here's another one, poem, I really like also.

Gone Fishin

I've finished life's chores assigned to me
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishin pole
for I've been invited to the fishin hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
to fill your heart with every wish.
Don't worry, or feel sad for me,
I'm fishin with the Master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won't be long you will see,
Till we're together you and me.
To all those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I'm missin
Just tell em I've gone fishin.

I don't know who wrote this, but I really like it.
That's how I want people to think of my after I'm gone... Saw1.

My name is Tiffany and my dad, Keith, used to send me words of wisdom from this site every week. Everyone who contributed to this community had a huge impact on my dad. He would laugh and laugh at your stories and always shared the best ones with my brother, Kevin, and I.

He passed away unexpectedly last night and I just felt like I had to make sure this community knew how much laughter your posts brought my family and I.

Thank you all. Next time you cast a line, or drink some rum, raise a glass to my dad!

With love, Tiffany

A little early for rum Tiffany, but a glass of milk has just been raised in your Dad,s honor.

We at the plum house send our sincerest condolences for you loss and for a healing of the Heart on such a sad day.

I can't add much Tiffany to what has been said already. This group of knuckleheads, most of whom I"ll never meet, have reached out to people in a variety of ways on FS. Remember the moments you had with your father. The smiles, hugs, words. Time can't take that away from you. My whiskey tonight(one a day), will be for Keith. I hope you can enjoy Thanksgiving. Here's one for you Keith. RIP.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family Tiffany. I’m Sure your father felt as if he knew many of us knuckleheads here on the stage. I read for months before I posted so when I finally did it felt like I knew the audience personally. Keep his memories and stories alive. If you want to share any of them here I know we would love to hear them!! You and all your fathers loved ones are in my prayers.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I usually end with tight lines but your lines always tight when the Lord calls you home. Take care and know we are here if you ever need someone to listen.

God Bless you,
J

I looked him up as well Fred. Been around since before I got here! Sometimes I wonder how many more are like Kevin. Faithful enjoyers of the Stage that don’t post. I bet there are 4 Readers who never post for each guy that does. Really cool to see the positive influence the stage has in people’s lives we don’t even realize are out there!! Something special about this motley crew!!!

I wonder too Jason, how many are like Keith, just reading. I presumed most signed up, read some, didn't like it, and left. It never dawned on me that some might just read, but for a very long time . He was here a couple months before me too. I guess we're more helpful /entertaining than we thought.

What seems like a long time ago when Jesus hit me over the head and woke me up, one of the teachers I was listening to said, “ Be careful how you live your life, you may be the only page of the Gospel someone else gets to read.” It is a comfort to learn you may have had a good effect on someone else’s life even without knowing it. I’ve said it before and will again. All you guys and gals are an amazing group of people. I am grateful for each of you.

Right back at you Wulffy. The stage is like a family in my eyes. We all don’t always get along but when push comes to shove we are here for each other.

Take care and have a great Thanks Giving!!!

No matter how far apart we are, this place feels like family. Even though lots of us will never meet,it makes you feel good to know that you’ve been an influence on someone and brightened their day just a little
