My wife had already gone to lunch in our dining hall, so I waited about 45 minutes to call her on my cell to get some guys to come and help me up. When I called, she said the Administration Staff forbade any such work by other residents. We had to call EMT!
Well, I had crawled out of the bathroom into my den but am a little sore from the fall and weak from P.T. earlier this morning. So, I must lie there until EMT comes to help. Other than being a little sore on my shoulder and rib cage, I am O.K.
I am not used to being so helpless as this. But guess it is the future. Sometimes, I am a little lightheaded, or dizzy, so, I never know what to expect. Getting old is not for sissies! It makes me wonder if I can make it until Wednesday my birthday!
I haven’t been counting but believe I have fallen at least a dozen times over the past year or so. Earlier, I attributed my falling to just not paying attention, but now am sure some of it was because I have very low blood pressure and that brought on dizzy spells. Even though I will always count to 20 when I start to get out of bed during the night, but that isn’t working as well as before. I haven’t thought it necessary to count to 20 after sitting on the toilet. Sometimes, I will receive a scrape, or a cut. Most of the time, I don’t lose any blood and I didn’t this time.
I guess I had better update my obituary. I have one but it is out of date, so I need to whip out a more current one. Well, it seems so unfair. I usually feel as good as if I am 40ish, but my body obviously does not agree at times.
When I depart, I am sure I will not be reincarnated as a jackrabbit in Montana. But I enjoy storytelling so much, if I can, I will try to communicate back to you. It might just happen that when one of you catches a fish, it might try to talk to you, or give you a short-written message from me.
From what I have read in the Holy Bible, only two men were ever allowed to have a view of Heaven. Neither of them knew whether it was an in-body, or out-of-body experience, but they were told they could not tell all they saw! These were Paul and John. Look for yourself. Now. Daniel had a look at the future, but I don’t think it included Heaven. Just Sayin…RJS
