So, anybody actually ever used this line?

Better yet, what excuse to the boss / spouse have you used in the past?

I can't think of anything too original but I worked with a guy who had the same uncle die three times. He actually got away with it twice before someone said, "wait a minute, .....

Good Morning, plum. When I carry my phone which is seldom, I always answer it, unless, of course, I have a fish on the line. Thank you and have a good one.

That is a good one, but will save that one for the right time.
I am also holding onto calling into work with an excuse that I have an appointment with the Optometrist as there are just some days I can’t “see” myself going in to work 😉😂

I'll answer my phone. Let 'em know where I'm at and never had any try to talk me off of the water. Most will just say to enjoy and see you when you get back.

Never had the opportunity to try that Plum. They would just keep calling till I did answer. I don’t miss it even a little bit

Good one Plumb, got this poster from a buddy years ago that was a bit more direct and to the point.

Friends and family know my rule is when fishing the phone only comes out for photos. But now the damn thing is linked to my sonar so sometimes I answer. At least it is hands free.

I love it! Liam has a t shirt with this on it. Re: excuses at work, I’ve gotten to the point where I just text my boss and say I’m not coming in. I still try to fish at places where I won’t be seen, tho. Lol
