Nice post Bob. I was reaching the point of saying good bye to the 9 to 5 but then a recession hit in 2008-09. Laid off from my dream job, 401k gone, house and cars gone, wife and kids gone.

Think it can't happen to you? So did I. Seize the day. Your life can change in a heartbeat. I've bounced back but retirement, not in the cards at 68 or anytime soon.

Like you often say, Greg; ā€œmake the most of itā€. Is it possible that God has a purpose for you right where youā€™re at, and thatā€™s why you are where you are? Iā€™ll bet your clients would agree!
You know how I believe-
Godā€™s plan is far above our plans, cause He knows things we donā€™t.
An analogy would be:
A father and his young son are on a busy street, downtown, and end up on opposite sides of the street. The young boyā€™s vision is obstructed by a parked car as he starts to cross the street, to reach his dad. Just at that moment, a speeding car comes flying down the street, unaware of the child. His dad, seeing the car approaching, yells out to his son ā€œSTOP! A carā€™s coming!ā€

We have a Father in Heaven who is watching out for His children (all of us) and He knows so much more than we do.
If we can put our trust and faith in His plan, we will (eventually) see that His plan is best for us.

ā€œAnd we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.ā€

Without getting into a deep discussion, I'll just say if God is in control and my clients benefit from my care, him putting me here cost me some of the most important relationships of my life with my children and wife at the time. Not a cost I would wish one anyone. Have a great day Randy and all on FS.

I donā€™t know if God PUT you where you are. We all have a ā€œfree willā€ and you have done your part to ā€œmake the most of itā€. Napoleon Hill says

Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. Napoleon Hill Ā·

I didnā€™t say EVERYONE
is or would be willing to ā€œrisk it allā€ for the cause of Christ.
Many are - consider Job, who lost EVERYTHING but his life. Butā€¦ he got it all back - double what he lost! Ten of the twelve disciples died as martyrs; Judas committed suicide and John died of natural causes. All the others suffered and DIED for Christ. Thatā€™s just a couple of examples. There are still people all over the earth giving everything for God. For most, it doesnā€™t literally cost them their life, but they are willing to give whatever it takes, just so others will be able to have ETERNAL life.
Think of all the men and women in the military who have willingly given their lives, over the years, for ALL of us, so we might live freely. Thatā€™s what Jesus did, so we might live forever in Heaven. He doesnā€™t even ask us to die for Him - He just wants us to LIVE for Himā€¦.
Itā€™s still OUR choice; He will never ā€œdraftā€ anyone to serveā€¦. šŸ™šŸ»

Good addition Wulffy, but right about now i think I am just existing. That 9 to 5 doesn't include the getting up early and the ride two and from. More like a 12 to 14 .

Some of us have reached that time we can start reaping the rewards of that 9 to 5.

Some of us are nearing that time to say good bye to that 9 to 5.

Either way, Live your Life to the Fullest, we only get one Cast at it.

Like !!
Never thought of it this way.
Thank you
Have a great Thanksgiving with your family šŸ‘Ŗ

Thanks Scud. Had me a reminder of that 9 to 5 this past week. The money is nice but that free time I gave up is priceless.
