Mission accomplished.....stove looks great. Rude, crude, or lewd....I noticed it. There are probably 30 other members that agreed with me but won't say anything for fear of retribution from those that follow the narrative......yeah

I wish to thank you for your support of me on this matter. I've been reflecting on this for quite some time and I would like to take a ( few) lines to comment. First thanks to all who commented and shared their thoughts with me, even the fine gentleman who gave his opinion of my stove and wall. ........ As some of you know I support Mental Health and am a certified MH Instructor as well as a Peer to Peer instructor dealing with MH issues. I facilitate an ongoing P2P group that has stayed connected after it's class was completed. I also volunteer once a week in a group that helps ex-offenders teaching life skills. This with my own Center that is a (non- profit) non- profit, which receives no outside funding whatsoever. My Center houses hard to place incarnated individuals with housing and Life skills in all matters of life. I also am teaching an art course 2 times a week at MHA in Erie Pa. Through the wonderfully organization NAMI in Erie Pa. My story is titled "The Stove" ..... The stove was already here when I started living here my brother had owned the property and it was under The Awake Living Center he taught The Course Of Miracles. Shortly after my arrival he disbanded this course and sold the building and this is when I took over the Center and started my program. The stove is perhaps 20 years old? It's a shared stove by anyone who lives here and has been for many years. This stove is sometimes slow to light and has marks and stains that cannot be removed. Why is this Stove so important???? . As someone comes to this Center they may have been incarcerated for over 25 years and have limited knowledge of everyday life skills ,some suffer from major MH issues . My oldest recent resident was a Veteran from WW2 Who was with the 101st Airborne and attempted to use this stove to cook canned ravioli and soups. This while navigating the shared kitchen area while using a walker, him cleaning up was not a realistic option. Over the past 5 years many have used this stove to make whatever they could. Yes this stove is not Martha Stewart clean however it does serve to allow me to prepare a full T-Day meal, X-Mass meal and New Year meal for all here as well as guys who are less fortunate in Erie that we invite to spend those special day's with us. The rest of the year it provides cooking use on a daily basis for up to 8 guy's of various skillets and Mental Health issues. There are no women, wives, or significant others here to perhaps chastise their husbands or children for messing up ( her ) kitchen stove or any other part of this community shared Center. Everyone here is at different levels of learning and I would rather celebrate the successful completion of a well cooked pan of chilli or spaghetti by someone achieving it for the first time than reprimand them for splatters on the stove or wall. So I do value anyone's opinion but I do not of course have to change my ways based on what someone may find offense to them . I cherish this community FS and will support anyone on it with respect as well as share any knowledge I can freely. Everyone is important. Sorry this is so long but I just wanted to let everyone know how important the MH issues of people are to me. Then it's back to "Ripping Lips" Thanks for listening you-all. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

Andy, your deeds are a wonderful testament to a fine human being. Can't understand why people can be so petty to actually make a remark like the unenlightened one. I was hoping you would ignore it but glad you let us know about your STOVE.
Keep up the good work!

I mixed my batter with club soda( we don't have alcohol at my Center) it stated a cup but I added just a touch more to allow the batter to run a little better and not clump up and be so thick to take away from the actual fish. I wish you good eating . Always glad to share. Let us all know how your meal turns out. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

OK I ordered some and it was easy to make and I had some of the stubby left after I used a cup of dark Beer to make the batter. It had good flavor and had 4 large pieces with a bunch left to warm up at a later date. For those who are from the Pacific North West I used IVAR'S tarter sauce. I also used a package of Rock Cod fish Fillets from my freezer. I am now going to order some more of this Louisiana Beer Batter.
