Hey guy's I put my yac under cover for the snow storm coming my way. Not done for the season yet I hope??? So I decided to deep fry some of those Perch I caught. WOW!!! They tasted great. First time eating Perch from my catch. The reason I've been so skeptical is that I've had " Lake Erie Perch" at local restaurants here and it always tasted very heavy on the fishy side. This perch today was mellow and same as walleye and Crappie I've taken out of Pymatuning Lake. Well it took me 63 years and about 10 seconds to figure that out. Maybe get a break in the weather yet this year, not an ice fisherman though. So to all that promoted the perch as a fine table fare thanks for the heads up or I'd still be throwing them back. I've come to the conclusion that the fish I want to keep needs to be in that 11" and above range. And thanks to all for the size advice as well

It's been a lot of years since I've eaten Perch Andy, but my mouth is watering. Nice job, and thanks for the pictures.

Alot of “Lake Erie Perch” at restaurants is BS!!! Perch can taste fishy if it’s not taken care of properly. Iced immediately, vacuume packed or frozen in water right after filleting. The commercially harvested perch doesn’t get the love and attention we give our catches.

Looks tasty! You’ve convinced me to fi Walleye for dinner tomorrow. The ones by me are feed heavily on perch.

Pro tip, take a pair of scissors with you and clip their gills to allow them to bleed out. You'll be surprised at the difference in the taste. The meat will be firm and snow white.

Nice Andy B, panfish like crappies, perch and gills are by far my favorite freshwater fish as well as eyes. That coating looks scrumptious, they’re done to perfection!

Andy looks better than anything I ever got from Long John Silvers brother. I quit going there yrs ago. Prices jumped portions shrunk. Like most places. Enjoy 👍🎣

Andy I'll try some of that. Use to go to a restaurant for their beer battered haddock. It was goooood brother. Unfortunately they went out of business after about 60+yrs. Came down through the family. Finally got to the I'm done generation 😒
