So theres only one thing better than seeing your bobber floating down the river when fishing for steelhead,Seeing your bobber go under and a big flash of chrome underneath it when your fishing for steelhead.
Its probably been over 5 years since I've gone out to chase some chrome, and it was a nice surprise to see my bobber go under on my 6th or seventh cast, coincidentally right after I took the first picture. Turned out to be a 28" hen full of eggs.

No doubt about that, and to increase the thrill, being the sportsman that I am,I don't use a net so gotta hand land em and I use light tackle, 6# Maxima Ultragreen and set the reel drag light.

Nice catch SA. Thanks for the pic. Go get another!
I was out prospecting for steel on my stream yesterday. Nothing around except some zombie Chinook.
I’m impatiently waiting for the winter fish to arrive. The river is in great shape for fishing though after our near flood stage rain event that happened last week.

Boy that is nice Steelie. Congratulations! You just gave me an itch that I'm going to have to go scratch. Keep on catching, friend. Nice job!

Beautiful fish. Washington must have an earlier season than Oregon. Not many are coming in yet here. The water is too low we need more rain.

up by Ritters or by Sultan? those two and by the old railroad tressel just outside Monroe use to be my favorite places but I know the river has changed some somewhat since then so not sure all those spots are still the place to go. but looks like you found a good spot

What does your gear look like on the other side of the bobber? What do they like to hit?
