After an exhaustive search, not completely thorough, what I was able to find out was the first edition of this book was published on August 17, 1991.

This story is quite chilling not because it might happen, but because it has happened and may even be repeated in the future. I am assuming you have seen the movie, read the book, or both
.
For those who have done neither, I will give a short synopsis. During the Korean war, a U.S. Army officer is captured by the North Koreans and was not immediately returned with all the other P.O.W. but is thoroughly brainwashed in North Korea. He was programmed to respond to certain keywords to put him under the control of his handler in the U.S. It also turns out that his mother is a U.S. handler. She and her husband are into politics with the husband running for President of the U.S. at the proper moment.

Frank Sinatra plays the U.S. Army officer who is on the trail of this ‘ticking bomb’ and trying to either capture or disarm the threat. I suggest you see the movie or read the book for a chilling experience.

Why am I writing this story, and feeling so strongly about the possibility this could really happen or more seriously is being played out at the highest levels currently? It is because I believe that one of these candidates is Barak Obama. There are important and serious gaps in his disclosed history. He had handlers that are determined to see the destruction of the United States as it exists now. Few outside of a small circle knows how much influence Obama has on the sitting President!

And besides that, do you think if the North Koreans were successful with one candidate, they would stop there? From the Democratic party seriously veering to the left, that is just one possibility. Call me a ‘kook’ or crazy, but you have been warned! Just Sayin…RJS

yep belongs in the attic. never read the book or seen the movie but I don't think that senereo is what compromises our politicians more like greed and dealings that compromise them and leave them vulnerable to blackmail. which is why a total and honest vetting is important so the v**ers know of all the possible vulnerabilities before they v**e. but even though I did not care for Obama's policies I think it would be more likely that he is an alien from outer space (which for the record I don't believe) than a "Manchurian canadate" of some kind. but come to the attic it is a great place for these type of discussions

I don’t have to be nice. We’re all in the attic. Seems like everything is fair game. I’ve read numerous posts from Mr. Samples and have enjoyed a good many of them. The one’s I don’t care for are the ones that blame everything on the Democrats. He’s a grad from Texas A&M and the Aggies are nothing but a Republican bastion. I’ve never seen a political post from him putting any blame of the problems in this country on Republicans and you know as good as I they’ve done their share along with the Democrats. I’m not quite as old and educated as Mr. Samples but I do know when to call BS😎👍
