Well I had to fill up the car today. I buy my gas at Costco and what they do is see what the local gas stations in the area charge and set their pumps a cent or two lower. Well I don't know where that cheap gas is that some on TV say, because I paid $4.09 99/100 per gallon for a bill of $58.08.
I drove by two supposedly "cheapest" gas stations before going to my regular one. Well, the first was out of regular gas, the second was more than 20cents/gal more than the first and my guy stopped pumping after $5 worth and says "We;re out of regular. It would take too long to fill you up with the cars waiting behind you. Tried to sell me Super. I said thanks anyway, my Prius doesn't take Super. I go to this station regularly so I know he wasn't trying to fool me into buying Super. Just weird that 2 of the 3 places I go were out of regular.
Price was @$3.57. All others $3.79 or more.

Take a look at the TAX on the gas, not the gas itself. Different in every state. Ct. used to be more expensive than NJ, now about the same because gov. lowered the tax in Ct. Right Fred?

Pa isn't the cheapest but as of now they don't tax SS or pension. Our gas tax is as high or higher than California. Oil companies could help the nation if they wanted to 👍
Oil companies and state government. The states tax and greed are to blame.

Google 'Gas Buddy' for your location, and be sure to mention Costco/Sam's . Usually very accurate.

I don't know if it is true since I haven't seen the break down but I read once that the government makes more per gal than the oil companies. out on the west coast I have no doubt that is true

just check for my state. .49 state tax. .18 federal tax and oil companies make .37 per gal. so governments gets .67 vs oil company .37 and the oil companies take all the investment risks

So your gas should only be 1.04 a gallon. I have yet to hear that anyone is paying this amount. Did I misunderstood?
you're lucky you don't live in CA. $5.69 per gallon for regular.
I drove into Greensboro NC early one morning about 15 year's ago, I stopped at a red light, turned my head to the left and saw an middle easterner running a water hose in the gass tanks, I took a picture with my phone and sent it to TV news stations, they contacted NC inspector's in Raleigh North Carolina, they closed them down 👇 and we're sued by many people for engine damages to their vehicle's. I got bad watered down gas in my Chevy S10 blew the timing belt and head gasket before I made it home. This was from a different station in another County. To say the least I was ticked, I sued along with other people.

I remember a time in my teens when you’d drive across town to save 2 cents on the gallon. That’s when your money bought something. Today most people won’t pick a penny off the sidewalk.

yes this is profit not cost there are added cost for pumping, refining, and t***sporting and other exspenses that are added to the cost as well as in our area bond issues that tack on added costs which is why I am paying about 5.45 per gal now at Costco but if I use the Costco credit card I get 4% back at the end of the year for every dollar spent on gas their which means I am really paying something like 5.23 per gal.
