Regretfully, not necessarily my choice, it would be fishing. You can't make people be interested in something if they aren't.

Expect little from people. You are seldom disappointed. Sorry, I know people don't like that line.
Sometimes it’s just hard for folks to accept the truth.

👍......and I DO like that line !
Over the years, I've had to learn to be less naive, and regrettably, less trusting. I've grown to realize that not everyone rules their lives and actions by "the Golden Rule"..... truly my life-long optimistic mantra that I strive to maintain.

But you are most correct, ghaynes, a lesser expectation yields less disappointment, therefore, a less stressful existence.... always a good thing, seeing's as how I seem to still be able to slip into in "full curmudgeon mode" on occasion, even if I really don't wish to !

Thanks Fixor. I wish I would have had pre-marital counseling to discuss expectations when it came to finances, sex, household and outside chores, etc. These things don't get discussed but people have unspoken expectations. Maybe that's part of the reason I"m on wife number three. I try not expect anything from anyone anymore, except me. I'm not perfect at it but I try.

Maybe so……..

That should be the 11th commandment, after Jesus the resurrection, before he ascended to heaven, He came looking for his disciples and what did Jesus tell them? Cast your nets on the other side, and wow they caught a haul, then they put some fish over the fire and dined on fish. So Jesus loved fish and fishermen. They were not afraid to get dirty and follow Jesus..Thank God for Fishers of men! Dead men don't eat fish

Anything you can catch fishing is better than what you might catch with the other, if not careful. LOL!

Great thread. Been married 48 years and fishing has been there every second. Lucky to have a situation where I can be totally dedicated to each.

All my life long fishing buddies have lost interest, or worse. So I have had to adjust when, who and how I fish now days.
