I only had one, a '68 Coupe, 6 banger , beater. My buddy had a '68 GT, Ragtop, with the 390 . That thing was scary.

Fred I had a 65 with a 6. Also had a 66 Fairlane steering box went out so I took 289 out of it n put it in the stang. I always wanted a 66/67 Shelby 427

I think the 427 came I. The regular mustangs. The Shelbys had 428. Could be wrong

I ripped the front end out of my '68 doing donuts in a blizzard. I never really liked that rattle trap. Next I bought a '70 Challenger, and that thing rattled even more. Wrapped that around a tree. Then I bought my first Cutlass S, a '68, and fell in love. Had 6 more over the years......

The real AC Shelbys are so out of reach now, no one we know will ever own one. Some of the tribute kit cars are pretty nice. A guy in town has a big block one with the correct 427 side oiler in it. It's beautiful, and goes like he!!.

The AC Cobras had the 427 side oiler big block, and the 289 in the smallblock cars. The Shelby Mustangs had 289s, originally, then the GT350s had 351s, and the GT500s had the 428 Cobra Jet. I passed up buying a faded red '69 GT500 that needed a little body work /paint/ and a reupolstery job. He wanted too much for it. $3,500.

That's beautiful Gordon. I was an Oldsmobile guy most of my younger days. I wish I had pictures of all of them, but all I have is my '70 Rallye 350.

SWEET ! Orphan now, along with Pontiac, Plymouth, Studebaker, Packard, DeSoto, and so many others. Now they're just in museums and @ car shows. Hard to believe after being best sellers in the eighties, Cutlass went right down the pipes. Meh!

Yeah Maxx, GM screwed up changing every single model to FWD pieces of junk. They handed the entire RWD V-8 market to Mopar on a silver platter.

Yeah Greg, the Boss 9 is a BEAST. A guy I know in the next town over has one. Hard to believe how much modification was required to stuff that 429 Shotgun Semi Hemi in that engine bay. They had to redesign the front suspension and move the shock towers out to fit it in there, and it's still a tight fit.

I heard you have to pull the engine out to change the spark plugs

Not true Bob. Being a Semi Hemi design, the sparkplugs are in the middle of the valve cover.
