Getting off the highway I see fog in the valley. Yep, fog at the lake too. 59°and damp at the ramp, 78.5°water temp. Ran up to the dam and started where I fished last time. VERY SLOW start. Skunkbuster was a dink SM. Worked the 4spots from last trip and caught a 2lb Smallie, and then a 1lb+ Smallie. I thought things were looking up, but they started releasing more water and the bite died. I went south to the Tornado trees, ate my sandwich, and caught another 1.25lb. Smalljaw. By then it was getting crowded with waterskiers, and getting hot, even the water was up to 84°, so I hit the last stretch by the ramp and called it a day. 4 mostly small Smallmouth, was it for the day.

Well Done. Fun day and no skunk is a winner.

Looks like you still had some fun. The launch looks pretty deserted except for the yak fisherman. Are those smallies always that dark?

Thanks, I did Four. There was a couple trailers further up the lot. Ours vary from a pale green all the way to almost black. I like the ones that have a 2 tone brown camo pattern.
Here you go Four

Yep couple more weeks, kids back in school, vacation time over. You caught more today than I did. I rotorilled up the section on one side of the house. The ground was like a brick and it was full of trees roots from the maple I just cut down. Took me two days to clean it out and get it ready to grade and seed. Gets a little more light now so grass should grow.

Thanks Jim. Yeah rototillers don't get as many strikes as a whopperplopper.
Glad you got your ground prepped anyway.

Nice fish and pictures!!! We can always catch bigger ones but it's help to catch a few, even dinks...LOL
Still, nice day on the water. Really nice pictures!

Looks like you had a decent day fishing... How was the wind? You may have to wait for cooler weather to have more time to fish on the lake... Less skiers

Thanks Devan. Under 5 mph till noon, then it picked up a little, but not bad. I was off the water at 1:00. Most of the skiers over there are residents, so there's always some around, just like Highland Lake.

Thanks Papa Jack, and you're welcome. Ours very a lot, as I posted in the middle of this thread. I'm fond of the camo pattern ones. They look like a custom paint job.

Hey buddy. Looks like a beautiful day to me. Cool in the morning and then some sun to warm you up a little. And of course, some fish to make it fun. Great day and great pics. Congrats brother.
