I have not done much fishing in CT, but you are hitting all the water on my wish list...

Thanks DT. I've actually be going to fewer places so far this year, but have gone to each place more times. Being retired and able to fish weekdays is awesome.

When you get your rig ready to go, let me know. If you want to meet somewhere that I know, I'll show you around. Just give me a few days notice.

Thank you much for the offer... I, like you, am retired... The difference is that I have not given fishing the priority it needs... Some day soon...

Sounds like you were 3 guys short for putting the boat on the trailer. Memories of our last day with Slim.

Although the catches made it worth the trouble i bet. Good pics Thanks.

Yep. Those extra long ropes came in real handy that day. I could have used them fishing with Alex. Bumped the dock twice trying to deal with 10mph on the quarter.

You should try it with NO docks. You have to beach the boat to go get the trailer. Then you have to shove the boat into the wind, out past the guide posts and pull it back in. Loads of laughs.

Wind was dead calm in Prospect when I left, 4 towns away it was blowing 8-12 when I got to the lake. WTF, over!!! It gradually increased from there. 12-18 when I left at 1:30.
The early bite was non existent, 2 bites on a Dinger and broke off both in deep trees. Pulled out the Ultralight and lost 3 consecutive jigs in the Calico tree. Decided to head back out on the gusty main lake an try some shallower cover. Changed to Wacky Generals, and caught a pounder, (skunk's off). Ok I can work with this, hit the next tree and got slammed by a 2 pounder. He had a black upper jaw, and a couple jet black spots on him. Never saw that before, almost looked like paint. Found one more shady tree on the northeast side of the lake and got another little one pounder. By then it was blowing 15, sideways across the ramp so I called it a day. No fun wrangling the boat back onto the trailer.

Way to stay at it. Thanks for the pictures

Nice job Fred. Good looking fish ๐Ÿ‘. I can remember, several times, the wind blowing hard enough to make loading the boat a pain but the trip out just before that was worth it. A couple of times I just went back out fishing and let the wind die down and loaded my boat in the dark. I DO have some dock rash on both sides of my boat thought. Hasnโ€™t kept me from going again either. Keep at it๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘Š

Thanks Randy. It was getting progressively stronger as the day went on, and was up to 25+ by dinnertime. Staying out was not an option that time. Yeah the paint on my tin boat is pretty scratched up, but I don't really care.

Some days youโ€™re the bug, some days youโ€™re the windshield Fred. Nice catching despite the weather.
