Pitched a shutout today again. I didn't see this guy catch anything either. I'm sure he's much better at catching fish than I am.

He knew if you " THE MASTER CASTER" couldn't catch anything he wasn't going to waste his time trying. Beautiful picture of your fishing spot.

Sorry to hear that Greg, it looks like a great spot. Usually the birds will show you where the bait is anyway. Keep plugging away buddy, your lucks gotta change.

I hope so Fred. I can't afford a fishing guide to help me catch fish.

Do you guys ever go out after dinner and fish the sunset? On warm days, the last hour before sunset usually brings Bass into the shallows looking for a meal. I call it the witching hour. Break out the Jitterbugs and Hula Poppers!

Nice picture! They’re fun to watch as they stalk the shoreline looking for a meal. I wish I had their patience; I’d probably catch more fish!

We did once but we need to try it more often. Funny you should ask, we've been discussing it lately. Worth a shot.

Usually works best after a hot sunny day, as soon as the sun goes behind the trees. The only drawback is the skeeters/knats come out at the same time. It's definitely worth a try if its getting warm down there. Good luck!

Mid 80s, sunny and dry all week. Maybe work a night in.

From somewhere I heard that those storks, or other large fishing birds would use their shadow to draw small minnows, and such, to them, and the pick them off one at a time with their beak. Is there any credence to that? Just Sayin...RJS

I’ve never heard that Robert but that don’t mean anything. My experience with the blue heron is they are, much, like the entitled generations of today. Any I’ve encountered were just standing on the bank waiting for a free handout from anyone fishing in the area.

Well, you could be correct. However, they would starve if there were no generous fishermen around to give them left over bait. Just Sayin...RJS

They, actually, beg for fish not bait. We give em the trash fish we catch on the Columbia and the Snake. Pea mouth chubs and they love em. The local authorities want us to dispatch the chubs because they eat salmon and steelhead eggs like crazy. We observe lots of the blue heron catching crayfish in the shallow rocky bottoms and they do, occasionally, grab a little fish or two but they’re loud and lazy by nature.
