Good morning, plum. I have never heard the words, "you're grounded" I didn't go anyplace anyway. One of the happiest days of my life was when I figured out that I could run faster than my dad. That worked fine in the summertime, not as well in the wintertime.

Same here Fg, lived out in the country so it was i couldn't grab the 12guage and go kill something. That was my grounding. That and we only had 1 car, we had limits back then.

How true. Besides a belt like E. P. Al’s dad, Tabasco on the tongue if my mom heard foul language or back talking.

Talking back didn’t happen more than once, for sure! Any “over the top” misbehaving certainly resulted in “altered plans”
The neighbors also had free reign to punish me and send me home and Mom would be alerted with a call to be ready for more. That was enough of a deterrent for me. My Brothers were 7 and 9 years older than I so their stories of my folk’s “corrective action” also helped the cause.
The no bike, or no car scenario came up a couple times…
