Fellas I haven't been out fishing in a couple weeks now, the shoulder really slowed me down but I've also had the Shingles. This stuff is MISERABLE and very, very painful it's my fault because I didn't get the vaccine when it was offered me last fall.
I know these days the word vaccine can really be a volatile subject but I highly suggest if you had the Chicken Pox when you were a kid and haven't yet,,,Go get a Shingles vaccine... I can't sit back lay down, stand ,walk, or sleep without the painful burning sensation that pulses with nerve pain that starts in the middle of my back and runs around to the front on my right side that hurts so bad it's hard to think. If one person doesn't have to go thru agony this it's worth the flack.

So sorry to hear that Ivey, I had it on 1/2 of my head and neck. It sucked!!! Still have nerve damage from it above my eye. I was planning on getting the shot a couple years later but then the virus showed up..... I understand you can get it more than once so I'll try and get the shot this year. Thanks for the reminder.

Hopefully, it's short-lived Ivey. Just an FYI for folks. As a caregiver, some of my clients (most have plenty of money), have had the shingles vaccine. I've been told insurance doesn't cover the vaccination. Two shots are required about 3 weeks apart. The total cost -- $400. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't get the shingles vaccine. Just thought people should know about the cost. If your insurance covers this vaccine, let me know. Maybe coverage varies.

Yes you can get it more than once, I have two sister-in-laws who have both had it more that twice. My doctor told me as soon as I get over this to go get a vaccine and I'm going ASAP. Thought I was over the worst but today it has come back with a vengeance

My advantage plan covered it. Had to be done at pharmacy, not doctors office.

I had a shingles shot (Zostavax) some years ago. I went to a pharmacy, it was covered 100%. If I'd gotten it from my Doctor, I'd have had to shell out for a co-pay.

Now there's a newer shingles vaccine (Shingrix) that's supposed to be a lot more effective. It's the expensive one that we're talking about here. I'm on (original) Medicare and they don't cover it. If I get the new shot, it's out of pocket.

I had the shingles on my head and neck and it HURTS, my insurance paid for my shots (2) . If you have to pay it and can afford to I would in a minute.

Sorry Ivey. I did get the shingles vaccine shortly before Covid. And the flu shot. Then I got my 2 covid Vaccines and then the booster. I felt like a pin cushion.

The wife and I got ours at the Costco pharmacy and Medicare doesn’t cover it but my secondary insurance, BlueCross covered it 100%. I believe it’s considered a prescription when giving it at a pharmacy…🤷‍♂️🐟on

I got the Shingrix vaccine at the pharmacy and either insurance paid or it was free. No charge to me.
