Doesn’t look very promising OJ. Stay in where it’s warm and just enjoy the getaway

As Ellen and I were driving back from breakfast, the ”snownadoes” were swirling all over limiting visibility and I asked if she was SURE she didn’t want to go hiking? 😂
I believe we may just settle for watching the golf match play coverage, a little NCAA basketball and Happy Hour at the neighbor’s cottage next door, later this afternoon. Ken is 93 and Corky is 85, both Yoopers and very sharp and a pleasure to talk to.

I appreciate all the encouragement, but the conditions (although very pretty) are pretty brutal for fishin’. 30mph with sideways snow is not promising. I missed my window for fishing yesterday as it was about 40 when we got here. Next time, I guess…
Sam (the Wonderdog) had 2 words for me when I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk…and the weren’t very nice. She has offered to hold down the “fort” while my lovely assistant and I go get some breakfast.

Beautiful scenery pic OJ, but i am with Sam.

Not enough snow for snow shoeing, either…
After breakfast, we took a ride to look at the stretch I intended to fish and it was still frozen, so too early for that, too late to cut the tree, just going to have to watch others play golf, basketball and get ready for happy hour…and watch the snow fly by 😂

Now that sounds like a good plan.

Needed a change of scenery so we took a ride Up North for the weekend. Our friends let us use their cottage from time to time so I play the role of handyman. I bring a tool bag along and try to knock off some of the items on the seemingly never-ending list. Apparently we missed the snow as ours has been gone for a few weeks. They must have gotten 4-5” a few days ago and it was partially melted, so I didn’t have to deal with that. It is very pretty when you have the option to visit as it really brightens up the woods and you can see a lot more deer. I brought an UL spinning rod along in hope to try to catch and release some trout, but the rivers are pretty high with the snow melt, flowing fast and still have plenty of ice along the edges to make it questionable. Maybe next time? The dog and I woke up to 22 degrees and a blustery light snow as the wind is blowing pretty hard. I think I will take the day off 😂
Have a great day all!
Needed a change of scenery so we took a ride Up No... (show quote)

Didn't need any pictures OJ. I had a visual of the whole place just by hearing your story. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Oh, if you posted it I missed. What part of the State you visiting? Itching to get on the water and knock some Eyes out but can’t catch a “spring break”. Hopefully we will get a better forecast this week. Cold I can handle, wet I can handle, cold and wet…. PASS!
