Welcome; I also just joined a few days ago ; fish Galveston bay and occasionally Sabine Lake; slow this year due to fresh water runoff ; I used to fish offshore but can’t take the pounding anymore ; we have to go 40-60 miles out to get to deep water ; trying something new this year - fly fishing in Rocky mtns / we will see how that goes ;
I have never fished Port A
Hi Elkhunter, good to meet you. Haven’t fished up that way other than Lake Charles, La. and that was 10 years ago. I’m fishing offshore less and less as I get older. I still love the Snapper runs. Here we only have to go 20-30 miles. We’re getting nice state water snapper right now.
Thank you CamT,
How’s fishing up there on the upper coast?
CamT

I haven't been out much in the last year as I was taking care of my wife, she just passed in December but I'm planning to try soon because Galveston bay is real close.
East bay is really good in spring for trout; especially April and May ; fish weekdays as very crowded on weekends ; March is good for slot drum

I don't think the Jersey Tpk goes to Port Arthur Texas, Fly.
Take any exit going Southwest then keep going for over 1000 miles and then your getting close. Port Aransas is very near Corpus Christi, Tx.
